In 1995 Jamie won the Canadian Community Newspapers Association best sports photo of the year award for a picture he took of a dog sled race.

Jamie Roach's photos have also appeared in several newspapers and magazines in Canada and United States.

Jamie entered the journalism profession in 1987 and has held such positions as editor, sports reporter, photographer, cartoonist and graphic designer.

When not photographing, Jamie dreams of making a comeback in baseball despite possessing the base-running speed of a chesterfield. He also spends time at the local golf course where he throws things.

On the heritage front, Jamie is the seventh generation of the Roach family, which settled in the Sussex area in 1780 after a rather long boating trip from Wexford County, Ireland. The Roaches took to farming the land on the outskirts of Sussex, which later became named...wait for it...here it comes...Roachville.
