Image Processing Projects, Digital Imaging Resources: HDR Lighting
Cool image processing projects involving HDR lighting create an HDR photo that stands out.
Your eyes are digital imaging resources. Take a look at your surroundings when composing a photograph. As Yogi Berra said, "You can see a lot just by observing." If you have underestimated the power of the sky, you won't anymore after high dynamic image processing projects. Two words: Dramatic clouds. Here's a repost of that pic from the hdr-photo.org homepage. This time with stronger contrast.

Early in your HDR mindset, you will train yourself in observing the sky and looking for tonality changes. You will also check out the tones and textures down on ground control. In these two trees and leaves photos, HDR accentuates the colour differences and preserves the details in the highlights and shadows.

It’s possible to shoot handheld if you’re not into lugging a tripod around or want to get that quick photo or capture that fleeting moment. In fact, it’s a good idea to give it a try. It all chalks up to your digital mastery experience. That's what I did for the photo below....parked the car, jumped out, fired away. Remember, the sun doesn't always have to be at your back. Try shooting into the sun and observe the effect as the light travels through the leaves.

You will be rewarded if you strive to get everything in focus – near or far. High dynamic range picks up on this characteristic.Rock formations also work in HDR...especially when you have some interesting light.

And speaking of light, we have many things going on in this pic of an abandoned shed. HDR identifies the exterior light, interior light, as well as the wooden and manmade textures.
