HDR Architecture City of Saint John
Well, here you have some fascinating HDR architecture photos of the City of Saint John New Brunswick Canada.
More specifically historic downtown Saint John, a city which contains buildings from 1790 (lower west side), that is if they weren't consumed by the Great Saint John Fire of 1877. Despite this, you can find early 19th century buildings - a kind of domestic, American-influenced architecture. Also on the bill are the British neoclassical and American Greek revival styles. After fire wiped out more than 2,000 structures June 20, 1877, the city decided to rebuild and put the word out all over North America and parts of the Old World. By June of 1881, the city was back from the charred thanks to an influx of help ranging from architects to labourers and materials from as far away as Italy (marble) and Honduras (mahogany). As a result, the architectural-scape of Canada's oldest incorporated city possessed an American feel, which was a departure from its pre-fire British design.
