Bend your friggin' knees. Ground level shots equal powerful perspectives. Get out of the habit of standing all the time.

Hit the town. Notice the leaves on the sidewalks after wet weather. Check out their impressions.

Water and leaves go well together; whether they're in a small pool in the forest or floating on a stream. Raindrops and ripples.

Try one-color compositions, opposite colors and/or the whole gamut.

Look for the negative spaces among hanging leaves. There are patterns and shapes there also.

Muted colors must be respected too. Don't underrate them.

Telephoto lenses can isolate your objects. The blurred background is a good thing in this case.

Frame your object to the side or to the top or bottom to increase the dynamic expression.
